What this section asks

   Do you have a compliant digital photo ready (2×2, white background, 600×600px+)?

   Do you certify all answers are true and correct to the best of your knowledge?

   Who will pay the MRV fee (~$185)?

4. 4

   Preferred embassy / consulate for interview

   Must generally be your country of residence. Wait times vary by weeks — check the official visa wait times page.

Where people get it wrong

• → Read every answer once more in CEAC's review screen — you certify under penalty of perjury that all are true.
• → The certification: 'I have read and understood the questions and I certify my answers are true' — signed electronically with your passport in hand.
• → Save the DS-160 confirmation page with barcode — the interview appointment requires it. Screenshot it AND print it.
